Youth Folk Workout Day

Youth Folk Workout Day
Thursday 12th April
Music Education Centre, 10.30am-4.30pm
Folk music is an exciting and dynamic genre of music: virtusosic yet accessible to anyone.
This workout day runs in two threads: Absolute Beginner workshops (for ages 9-16), where instruments are provided, and ‘band in a day’ classes for musicians aged 14-19 who can already play their instrument:
Fiddle (Absolute Beginner) with Rachel Cross
Northumbrian Pipes (Absolute Beginner) with Paul Knox
Band with Song (Intermediate/Advanced) with James Fagan
Band for Listening (Beginner/Intermediate) with Dave Wood
Absolutely Advanced with Nancy Kerr
The day will contain supervised breaks and we advise participants to bring a good packed lunch.
