....about Saturday night.......

Ed sends his many thanks from a KLM flight to Amsterdam (work not pleasure this time I am afraid) for a really super gig on Saturday at St Johns - the hard work on the singing was worth it as it sounded really great, as was our lovely audience. Many thanks to Jenny for her beautiful accompaniment, particularly for Beatus Vir which had a great first outing.

Many thanks to VoiceQuad for joining us and making the concert so special.

We have had this lovely message from Teresa from VoiceQuad:

Hi! Thank you so much for inviting us to sing with you at St John's ... we love performing, but for me the best part was relaxing in the pews, listening to you folks sounding and looking gorgeous whilst singing extraordinary and challenging (and surprisingly accessible) music!

And last but not least thank you to everyone at St John's and Ruth for all her organising and hosting the post-party "do", you're a star!

Folk music is an exciting and dynamic genre of music: virtusosic yet accessible to anyone.
This workout day runs in two threads: Absolute Beginner workshops (for ages 9-16), where instruments are provided, and ‘band in a day’ classes for musicians aged 14-19 who can already play their instrument:

Northumbrian Pipes (Absolute Beginner) with Paul Knox
Band with Song (Intermediate/Advanced) with James Fagan
Band for Listening (Beginner/Intermediate) with Dave Wood

The day will contain supervised breaks and we advise participants to bring a good packed lunch.
