Adam and I have been asked by a friend of mine whether or not we can get together a small choir to take part in a fundraising concert in late May. He knew of our involvement with the Chamber Choir having heard our concerts in the past. The fundraising is for the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem in Jerusalem. This is an eye hospital that provides services for all the population of the West bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem of whatever background. It’s a much needed facility but relies on charitable funds to provide the services.http://www.stjohneyehospital.org/

The concert is planned for 16^th May 2014 in St Nicholas’ Church, Durham (the church in the Market Place). We were asked to put together a short programme of between 20 and 30 minutes as part of a larger programme.

Adam and I wondered if there were enough of the chamber choir members who might be available on that night to help us out. Depending on the interest we can then think about the programme. We already have a potential accompanist, if needed.
