Well thank you everyone for another amazing tour. This one seemed to have been sponsored by Guinness and I do remember some singing..... maybe it was the Guinness but I don’t think a touring chamber choir has sung better across all the parts. We took music on this trip that we wouldn't have dared to have dreamed about back in Prague 6 years ago. All of the venues were fun, but it was the unusual ones which really seemed to stick out for me including (and especially) St Audoen’s (we were on fire and that acoustic was rich) and, maybe it was just me, but the Lady Chapel in St Patrick’s. I could have sung there all day. Thanks to everyone and now, how do we top that? (see below....)

New music:
Please let Ed know if you have any suggestions for new music for the coming terms
New ventures:
Please let Ed know if you have any suggestions for new music for the coming terms
New ventures:
- what sort of tour / trip would people like to do next year? would you be interested if the tour was on home soil next year? or is going abroad a must? what time of year would people like to travel? are there any locations you would really like to visit to sing? (remember we need to be able to get there and back in a weekend at at a reasonable cost!)
- Are there any other sort of singing ventures that you would like to do instead of the sort of trip that we have done for the past few years? e.g. choral festival etc
Thanks to our successes at St George's Church in July, we are in the pleasurable situation of having £250.00 that we need to spend by March 2013. Please let Ed or the CC Champions know (you can do so by replying to this email) of any suggestions or preferences you have for how the money is spent. e.g. on music that we might otherwise not be able to afford? on a weekend day choral workshop of some sort? on supplementing the tour next year? paying for musicians or soloists to work with us? These are just a few suggestions to get the ball rolling - please do make suggestions of your own. Soon after the new term starts we will hopefully then have a shortlist of possibles which we can put to the vote.

Hi Dubliners & others viewing this....!
ReplyDeleteWould you believe that there are actually some alto's hidden behind the sops in the front row on the left hand side of th picture!! That is what comes of being under 5ft 2ins!! Memo to self - must try to grow for the future.
Thanks to Julie & Jean who picked up my music from our final concert. I think I was a bit overwhelmed by it all - a standing ovation, I seem to remember. I'm particularly sorry to Julie that you had even more to add to your cabin luggage!!
See you all soon.
