The Hallé are putting together an Associate Choir to join the orchestra for this project, which culminates in a live recording and concert performance of The Apostles at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
Experienced singers are required to perform Elgar’s choral masterpiece, ‘The Apostles’, with the combined forces of the award-winning Hallé and Hallé Choirs. If you can sight read and love singing but haven’t got the time to do it all year round, or if you are already busy singing with another choir, then this project is for you. The Hallé Choir begins rehearsals in March for a performance and recording of Elgar’s ‘The Apostles’ in May and is looking for experienced singers to come and join the Hallé for this special project.
The concert, conducted by Sir Mark Elder, will take place in The Bridgewater Hall on Saturday 5 May, 2012 with internationally-renowned soloists Rebecca Evans, Alice Coote, Paul Groves, Brindley Sherratt and Jacques Imbrailo.
The performance will be recorded LIVE in The Bridgewater Hall and will be released at a later date on the Hallé’s own CD label.
There will be a series of auditions throughout January and February, in time for the first rehearsal on Saturday 25 March 2012.
