Updtae on singing events this term

As discussed last night:

June 25th : Ushaw College

• 1pm rehearsal
• 2.30pm concert - over by 4.15pm - "Black with a splash" and black music folders
• PLEASE DO ENCOURAGE FRIENDS AND FAMILY TO COME AND DO DISTRIBUTE THE POSTER FAR AND WIDE - TAHNK YOU
• After concert "do" by kind invitation of the choir Durham contingent - at Ushaw - family and friends welcome - please let Adam know numbers - contributions to the drinks table very welcome

July 9th

• This concert is now OFF - unfortunately only a small number of people who could make it so we just don't have a choir for that event

Last rehearsal of term 11th July:

• We would love to have an informal friendly sociable singing evening out of the Sage
• Our thoughts are that if someone would be willing to host their garden (and house/garden in the case of bad weather) then we could all bring something to eat and drink and have a singing sociable picnicking evening together
• If you could host please do let Ed or Enid or Nicky know
• 7-9pm as usual

We seem to have problems with emails not reaching all of the choir.  in an effort to find out where the problem lies I am going to send this message in 3 ways - from the blog, via the googlegroup address and via the gmail address.

SGCC Concert 25th June - Ushaw College

As discussed at last night's rehearsal, we are planning to hold our summer concert at Ushaw College in Durham in the afternoon rather than our normal evening slot.  This is because we believe we will be able maximise audience numbers as the buildings and grounds are open to the public at that time.

Therefore it is likely that we will have a rehearsal at about 1.30pm and the concert at about 3-5pm - we will confirm times nearer the date but in the meantime do let us know if this is a big problem for you.

Lift access to the MEC on Monday Monday 25th January

Important work taking place on Monday 25^th January.

Due to this work, PL4 (big lift) which runs from the MEC to admin will be closed off to both members of staff and the public.

The area on level 1 of Sage two next to PL4 will be cordoned off. There are materials been transported from the lift to the skip area, so please take extra care whilst in the back stage corridor.

Access to the MEC can be achieved by using PL2 (Sage One west side)

Concert Date Confirmation

We can confirm that our winter concert 2016 will be on Saturday 3rd December at Jesmond URC - get it in your diaries! :-)

Sing at Fountains Abbey, Yorkshire

"The choral performances form part of an evening event at Fountains Abbey – we floodlight the ruins from dusk, offer visitors guided tours, play recorded Gregorian chant until the choir performs and serve hot pulled pork sandwiches from the tearoom.

Choirs sing in the floodlit abbey cellarium (under cover but still open to the elements) between 7pm and 8pm. We set out chairs for visitors to sit and enjoy the performances."

Winter concert is likely to be either 26th November or 3rd December 2016 if you would like to keep  those dates free - date and venue to be confirmed
