Wylam - 4th July

Please arrive at 4.15pm for a rehearsal - the concert starts at 7pm.

From Howard:

Here is a local map for navigation and parking purposes. You drive down from the A69 on Holeyn Hall Road, if coming from the North or across the bridge and up Wylam’s Main road if coming from the south. The main  free car park is behind the war memorial and near the bridge as you come in from the south. It is about 5 minutes walk from St Oswins church. On this map the church is on Church Road but you’d be better off calling it Holeyn Hall Road, if asking locals.

The church will specially open double gates for the occasion. This lets about 10 cars park by the NORTH immediate side of the church.  It would be best if anybody with less vigorous mobility has priority here. The road immediately outside the church will be used for the concert audience which should be 60 -70 people.  I’m told that some like to get their preferred seats from after 6pm.

The church will very kindly give us Tea, coffee, soft drinks, sandwiches, fruit and cake from 6pm. This will be in the Church Hall next to the church yet in the grounds. The bar will be being set up in the back of the church around this time.

For those who are bringing a savoury dish for the party Hilary and I are hosting in the Church Hall  afterwards, this is also where you would kindly drop off those dishes – in the Kitchen area at the back of the hall. Since two catering functions exist simultaneously, we will aim to mark areas out clearly.

You will see from this quaint map,  4 pubs are marked as INNS – (no not the Admiral Benbow which was re named when Blind Pew got knocked down by a Tescos delivery van)

If Hilary and I could have 20 minutes after the concert to set things up, we will be fine. The nearest Inn / Pub is “The Ship” which is less than 2 minutes from the Church

Since the bar is being set up in the back of the Church, I am assuming that the INTERVAL refreshments and Raffle will take place at the back of the church.

If this is not the case please will Fiona Oomes, copied in to this e mail let me know.

We will be asked to leave our kit in the choir vestry which is not that big as the Church Hall has to be left open for toilet access.

Fiona has suggested that for performance entry and exit purposes, half the choir use the vestry and half use the Clayton chapel.

Ed will make his own decision on this.
