Singing opportunity for the choir 9th November - please reply

To mark the centenary of the outbreak of World War One, the European Concert Hall Organisation is organising a series of joint pan-European projects and commissions.  Body of Songs is a one hour concert on remembrance Sunday 9th November 2014  in Hall Two with a range of choirs performing these new pieces.

 
They would like local choirs to perform before this concert on the concourse, ‘reflections on peace’ being the theme. 

There are x6 30 minute slots to be filled.   The times would start after the 2 minutes silence at 11am and go on till 3.30pm before the Body of Songs concert at 4pm.

 

We would like Chamber Choir to have one of these slots - please could you let us know ASAP, by reply to this email,  if you could make it on the 9th (time tbc) so that we can check that we will have a choir.

To all coming to Bruges

Dear All,

We are now booked into a restaurant for our usual Saturday night get-together. The restaurant is Maximiliaan van Oostenrijk where we are booked in for 8pm. It will be a 3 course meal plus coffee/tea with two choices per course. I appreciate that not everyone wants to work there way through 3 courses but finding a suitable restaurant this year has been a little more difficult. Most of the restaurants that I approached only wanted us to have one menu with one item per course. MvO has been most helpful on getting something sorted and has a good Trip Advisor rating for those who follow these things.

The cost will be, at present, an estimated £30 each including a small tip on top of the meal cost, (That sorts out the odd cents in the actual costs and makes my collecting easier).

Two questions that I should like answered for my return (16^th June):
·        Can you please confirm to Nicky and me if you and anyone travelling with you will be joining us for the meal.
·        There will also be a vegetarian menu available. Could you let me know if you would prefer this to the fish/meat content of the other choices

Once I know about the vegetarian choices I can confirm the detail of the full meal.

Rehearsal dates - 2 "extra" before the concert.

Thank you again for delving into your diaries and letting us know your availability for possible "extra" rehearsals before the concert on 6th July.

 

Dates for these are now fixed as:

 

Wednesday 4th June and Thursday 26th June

These will actually be the last two rehearsals of the term brought forward and so the final rehearsal of the term will be Monday 7th July.

No extra rehearsal next week

Thank you for all your responses about your availability for the possible extra rehearsals before the concert on the 6th July. 

We are still finalising which dates we can do and will let you know the final decision as soon as possible.

We can confirm however that there will be no extra rehearsal next week (w/c 5 May).
