Chamber Choir summer trip 2013 to Cambridge

So everything is coming together.....and our trip to Cambridge (and environs)  is ON!

We will confirm venues etc nearer the time but it looks likely that we will sing in  Ely Cathedral, Sidney Sussex College Chapel and the mighty St John's College Chapel, with a probable small church sing for contrast.


The singing dates are Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th August.

If you haven't told me already whether you are coming, please do so as soon as your plans are fixed.  As it stands at the moment it looks like we have a balanced choir for the weekend but the more the merrier, as ever.

As last year we will all contribute to the paying of Ed's travel and accommodation over the weekend, and in a similar way as with the Cathedrals in Dublin we will all need to contribute to the charges that some of the venues are making - it is likely to be no more than £15-£20 per singer in total for the venues.

Nick has been working hard to arrange for Christ College to reserve some accommodation for us to book.  It is going to be released to us for booking on Monday 6^th May and will be exclusively available to us until the 26^th May. After that those rooms not taken will go on to the Cambridge Rooms website for general release. The college will provide us with a promotional code and link to the website later this week which we will pass on to the choir as soon as we have it.

The rooms are being made available to us for the nights of Friday 16^th and Saturday 17^th August. All accommodation is with breakfast.

3   x superior double rooms – en suite shower rooms £90.00 per night

3   x double rooms with designated bathrooms £80.00 per night – designated bathrooms are exclusive to each room but across a communal landing

4   x staircase twin rooms with en suite with bath – some also have overhead shower £70.00 per night

18 x New Court Single rooms with en suite shower/handbasin and WC pod £55.00 per night.

It may be that Sidney Sussex (thanks to Roland's hard work and connections) will also be able to offer rooms  - we will keep you informed of any developments on that front.
