from Sheila re Cambridge DVD

The longer version of the Cambridge choir trip DVD (for internal consumption rather than promotion) is almost here. I've tied Dave to his  computer, and am hoping to have some to bring along tonight.
Can people let me know if they want one? It'll be £3 as before, to cover the cost of the disk.

From Rob Barnes, friend of Chamber Choir

Dear Chamber Choir,

Celebration!!  It’s the 100th edition of my weekly radio programme Classical NE1fm this coming Sunday, 16 February.   There’ll be 25 pieces from 22 composers – the music that provoked most positive comment over the last two years of the show, and has passed the test for extreme tunefulness and its power to please.

You’ll hear choral, orchestral, instrumental, and solo pieces – some you’ll know and just maybe some that are new to you, to tickle your musical taste buds.

Please join me on Sunday if you can - 7.00-9.30pm on 102.5FM (Tyneside only) and www.ne1fm.net/listen anywhere.

BRUGES IS ON! and helpers please :-)

We have a choir and we already have venues booked (which are looking like the usual mixture of grandeur and quirkiness ....) so please do go ahead and start booking your travel and accommodation.

We will be singing Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th August so you will need to be there ready to sing on Saturday morning.  The last concert will finish at 4.00pm on Sunday (we may be able to finish a little earlier if absolutely necessary but that is the plan at the moment) - please make allowance for train travel time back to Brussels airport if you are heading back there.

As in recent trips we will all pay a contribution to cover Ed's travel and accommodation as he is kindly giving up his weekend for us.

In past years some of the choir have very kindly assisted by researching accommodation options, collecting the aforementioned contributions  and also finding and booking a restaurant for a full choir meal on the Saturday night.  And I am now asking for assistance again - so if anyone thinks they could help I would be greatly appreciative.  Bruges seems very well geared up for tourists so I hope none of those tasks would be too tricky. Please just see me at choir or reply to this email if you are able to assist.

Looking forward to it already!
