A request from Enid
I would like to ask the choir
if some of you would prepared to lend me your copy of "Here's the Tender
Coming"? I would bring them to Cambridge for those who will need
them there.
I am doing the choral conducting
course at Sherborne at the beginning of August and we have been encouraged to
bring a piece of our own choice to introduce to our fellow students. I
thought Nathan's piece would be ideal. I shall of course ask Nathan if he
is OK with that.
I shall need about 20 copies in total. Beth has some in stock and I have my own, so I may only need about 12.
Many thanks,
Enid
email from St Thomas' Church - and many thanks again to our ticket selling and refreshments helpers
We thought you all might like to see this email from St Thomas' church following the concert on Saturday.
Hi Enid,
I thought this evenings
concert was excellent, probably exceeding expectations. The choirs, both
individually, and combined, sounded excellent in our acoustic. And you had an
appreciative audience. Mike from the church who opened our shop during the
interval, was highly impressed, he had intended leaving after the interval, but
was so taken by the quality he stayed for the rest of the concert. You could
have charged twice the price for tickets and the audience would still have gone
away satisfied.
Your group of helpers also
who sold tickets and looked after interval refreshments were
excellent. Often after some different events I have to spend time "picking
up pieces", but on this occasion it was as if no one had been
there!...As a venue provider this makes an enormous difference,
especially in our situation where we have to get the church ready for the service
tomorrow, please pass on my thanks to them.
Word will spread of this evenings
concert and I am sure the next one will draw even larger audience numbers.
I am glad we have established these
links with the Sage groups and hope they continue well into the future.
very best regards,
Ian Mac
