A lovely message from Holy Saviour's Church, Tynemouth

Dear Enid,

Just to thank you again for organising last night's concert at Holy Saviours'  church. Several people at church this morning commented on how much they had enjoyed it. Interestingly too were those who would have liked to come but had been to see a musical produced by the pupils of Kings Priory school at the school last night.

I do hope that you might consider paying us a return visit  on an evening when there is less musical competition.

I've attached a short article which I will put into the next church magazine.

If you could email me a photograph from your husband , I would like to attach that to the article. Thanks again and enjoy your singing.

I would like to send a thank you note to Ed but do not have a contact address for him . Perhaps therefor you could pass on my thanks to him.

Best wishes Linda

Sage Gateshead Chamber Choir’s Spring Choral Celebration on Saturday March 29th.

The audience for the end of term concert by the Sage Chamber Choir enjoyed an evening of wonderful music.  Despite the unseasonably cold weather, we were warmed by their passion and enthusiasm.  In a very varied programme, we heard songs from Gibbons, Greig, Tchaikovsky and Macmillan amongst others.  The expertise of the choir, which was conducted by  Edward Milner, the head of Music Learning at the Sage, created singing of the highest calibre.. The piano and organ music of Jenny Martins was delightful and added to the enjoyment in a very special evening.  We hope that they will come back again and enjoy the welcome and acoustics of Holy Saviour’s.

The choir generously donated all the ticket money to the church.

From Simon

Dear All

Adam and I have been asked by a friend of mine whether or not we can get together a small choir to take part in a fundraising concert in late May. He knew of our involvement with the Chamber Choir having heard our concerts in the past. The fundraising is for the Hospital of St John of Jerusalem in Jerusalem. This is an eye hospital that provides services for all the population of the West bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem of whatever background. It’s a much needed facility but relies on charitable funds to provide the services.http://www.stjohneyehospital.org/

The concert is planned for 16th May 2014 in St Nicholas’ Church, Durham (the church in the Market Place). We were asked to put together a short programme of between 20 and 30 minutes as part of a larger programme.

Adam and I wondered if there were enough of the chamber choir members who might be available on that night to help us out. Depending on the interest we can then think about the programme. We already have a potential accompanist, if needed.

If you would like to join in could you let either Adam or I know either by email (adamnicholshome@yahoo.co.uk orsimon.priestley@btinternet.com ) or at choir over the next couple of weeks.

Many thanks

Simon
