Hello,

I am putting a call out to anyone who is able to take part in the Male Voice Choir for Little Musgrave (see info below, sent out previously).

We are still needing tenors and basses.  If you have a problem with the rehearsal dates then please let me know.

Many Thanks,

Dear Singer,

We have been given the opportunity to create a Male Voice Choir to sing Britten’s Ballad of Little Musgrave in the concert: Folkworks: Jon Boden: The Ballad of Little Musgrave and Lady Barnard.  Boden wraps his own music round Britten’s choral setting for this exciting Hall One concert which is Commissioned by Aldeburgh Music as part of the Inspired by Britten series.  Members of the Peterborough Male Voice Choir, who have recently performed this, will be joining us for this performance.

The concert is on Wednesday 25th September, 7.30pm in Hall One with a rehearsal from 5.15pm.

Alan Fearon will be leading this project and he has asked for the following dates to beheld for rehearsals:

Saturday 21st September (could be a later afternoon/early evening rehearsal)
&
Tuesday 24th September (7.30pm start)

Are you interested?
Then please show your interest by replying to this email by 1st September and also confirm your voice part.
Then…
Once I have received emails of interest then I will be back in touch with you as to whether we require you for this project – and to confirm the dates of the rehearsals.

In the meantime please let me know if you have any questions.

Many Thanks

Emma

Didn't we have a lovely time.....Cambridge 2013

We had a lovely weekend in Cambridge - and a few people have successfully negotiated the uploading challenges of our Picasa photo page and so you can see a number of lovely images of our adventures there (if you are uploading remember to mark your photos as "public" so we can all see them without having to log-in - if you don't know how to, I can go in afterwards and change the settings, so don't worry too much).

Here's the link to the page:

A couple of examples:

This one below particularly amused me, complete with caption: "They follow my every word"...

A request from Enid

I would like to ask the choir if some of you would prepared to lend me your copy of "Here's the Tender Coming"?  I would bring them to Cambridge for those who will need them there.

I am doing the choral conducting course at Sherborne at the beginning of August and we have been encouraged to bring a piece of our own choice to introduce to our fellow students.  I thought Nathan's piece would be ideal.  I shall of course ask Nathan if he is OK with that.

I shall need about 20 copies in total.  Beth has some in stock and I have my own, so I may only need about 12.

Many thanks,

Enid
