NE1FM photos

That link didn't seem to work so here are the photos (if you are reading this on your email, right click on the red crosses to download the pictures if they don't appear straight away)

Singing live on NE1FM

At 7.10pm last night a small group of us (plus Daniel Tate) commenced the nerve wracking task of singing live on the radio for 45 minutes during our pal, and ex-Chamber Choir member, Rob's radio show on the community radio station NE1FM.

I have put a few pics on our photo page - you can get to it from this link:

here's a taster below

What they don't show is the tropical temperatures and very challenging acoustics of the padded cell......it was terrifying and great fun in pretty much equal measures!

Sea Shanties needed!

Dear Musician,

On Fri 30th of April 'The Punchbowl' Edmundbyers is holding a 'seafood' evening.
They have these themed nights every so often to build up business and to make
a change from the regular day in day out service.

For this night in particular they are after a small group of musicians (very small...
4 or 5 at a push) that can play sea shanties or music inspired by the sea. Ideally
they want a fiddle and an accordion or 'Squeezebox', but would be interested in
any combination of instrument (including voice) just so long as the music is of a
coastal nature.

The Idea would be that you come along and play whilst people eat and then late
into the evening.

If you are interested feel free to call this number 01207 255545, or pop in for a pint
and ask for the landlord Chris Brown.

Thanks for your time

live on air.....

On Sunday 15 April a small SATB choir formed from the ranks of The Sage Gateshead Chamber Choir will be performing ‘live’ on the Classical NE1fm radio programme (see below for details), between 7 and 8pm.

The Easter Sunday edition of Classical NE1fm (8 April) has also developed into a choral special. Stanford, Palestrina, Brahms, Mascagni, Handel and Allegri are all represented – and Puccini chips in with a couple of arias as well.

You can listen in 7-9PM every Sunday on 102.5FM locally, and away from the local area via www.ne1fm.net/listen, and also via the TuneIn app for Smartphones where you can also record the programme.

You can also check Rob Barnes’ programme web page – www.ne1fm.net/classical-ne1fm - for more information
